International Removals to UAE/Dubai

UAE/Dubai: An overview

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federation of seven Emirates and was established in 1971. Oil and natural gas play a central role in the UAE’s economy and since the 1980s billions of dollars have been spent on infrastructure projects. Abu Dhabi serves as the capital while Dubai is the UAE’s most populous city, the fifth most popular tourist destination in the world, has the world’s busiest airport for international passenger traffic and the world’s tallest structure, the Burj Khalifa standing at 2,722 feet. You can rest assured we will assist you at every stage from start to finish of your move to UAE/Dubai, leaving you to enjoy everything this confederation with its spectacular high-rise cities has to offer.

UAE/Dubai Customs and quarantine regulations

You can import personal effects and household goods into the UAE duty-free provided you have owned and used them beforehand. You must personally be in the UAE in order to complete the customs clearance procedures. There are no quarantine requirements for dogs and cats coming from the UK but importing them into the UAE can be difficult without careful planning. Vehicles over ten years old cannot be imported. Your Move Manager will oversee your move throughout and will provide assistance and advice to safely guide you through the UAE/Dubai Customs and quarantine regulations as they apply to your individual circumstances.

What should I do with the things I can’t take?

The UAE is a Muslim country in which Islamic law is enforced, and there are numerous items you are not permitted to import. Again, your Move Manager will be able to provide advice and assistance. There will also probably be others you don’t need to take but would like to keep. The answer is to store them in our secure and well-maintained storage facilities, where you can access them at any time during working hours.

How long will it take to ship my possessions?

Shipping to the UAE/Dubai is usually by dedicated container, in a shared container or by air freight. The latter is the speediest, taking 1-3 days, but moving your goods as a Full Container Load will take approximately 5-6 weeks door-to-door, while a shared container (Groupage) will take around 8-12 weeks. Your Move Manager will supply a schedule covering the expected transit time for your particular move.
